'Fauci emails leak' opens a can worms
'Fauci emails leak' has revealed Dr. Anthony Fauci suspected that Covid possibly leaked from Wuhan lab but preferred to cover up. Consequently, former US President Trump has pointed that he was right about the 'Wuhan lab leak'. He has demanded China pay a $10 trillion penalty to the world for all life losses and the economy.
At the same time, the email leak has revealed that an executive at EcoHealth, a firm that funded research at China's Wuhan Institute of Virology into the origin of COVID-19, thanked Dr. Fauci for publicly stating that scientific evidence supports a 'natural origin for the Coronavirus and not a lab leak'.
Earlier, Dr. Fauci, who is the Chief Medical Advisor to the US President, had accepted that the US funded the Wuhan lab, blamed for creating Covid. Opposition Republicans had demanded his resignation.
In the meantime, breakthrough research conducted by British Prof. Angus Dalgleish and Norwegian scientist Birger Sorensen and a team of researchers claim that the coronavirus did not develop naturally but was created by Chinese scientists Wuhan lab. Later, they tried to cover it up by reverse-engineering versions of the virus to make it look like it evolved naturally from bats. Several such experts have noted a similar observation.
With all this, the question remains, did Dr Anthony Fauci collude with China?
China's pandemic created a world polarised by inequality
The pandemic has pushed additional 100 million people into poverty, says the United Nations. With it, global unemployment will rise to 205 million people by 2022. The UN report also says that employment levels will not return to pre-pandemic levels before 2023 based on the current trajectory. It has termed the pandemic “an employment and human crisis” in addition to being a public health crisis.
Then, another report from Oxfam has stated that from the start of the pandemic, billionaires gained $3.9 trillion while commoners lost $3.7 trillion. The two figures clearly show the direction of draining of money due to the Chinese pandemic. The report even says that the increase for just the world's 10 wealthiest billionaires could pay for everyone to get vaccinated and also stay out of poverty.
Besides, Oxfam says that American workers saw a 10.3% decline in earnings, the largest in the world. However, American billionaires had seen their net worths grow to $4 trillion during the pandemic. In fact, the top 10 wealthiest US billionaires were worth over $1 trillion. It is about half the value of US President Biden stimulus package.
Overall, it is clear that China's pandemic has created a world polarised by inequality.
