Kudos to Vedant Sawant for his record-breaking swimming feat
On Sunday, January 17, 2016 Vedant Vishwanath Sawant, a 9-year old kid from Vashi, had the glory of bagging title of the fastest swimmer between Elephanta Islands to Gateway of India in the under-10 years age category. A student of class IV, Vedant has a keen interest in swimming.
In this solo attempt of his, he swam a distance of 14 kilometres at a stretch finally reaching Gateway of India. His determined and commendable endeavour has lead him to set a new record of crossing the Elephant to Gateway sea-route in 2 hours, 50 minutes, 28 seconds breaking the previous record of 3 hours and 10 minutes.
To celebrate the contented victory of this young talented kid, few pilot boats with official observers, time keepers, his couches and parents were present at the shore along with mayor of Navi Mumbai Shri. Sudhakar Sonawane to welcome him.
It was a very joyful moment for Santosh Patil who has been training Vedant for this swimming expedition. He quoted that this was a very rare and difficult route chosen by any swimmer and that he was very glad that Vedant not only chose it and but also succeeded in surmounting the earlier record. He also claimed Vedant be a wonder kid in his comments.
Vedant Sawant is the son of one of our Shraddhavans Vishwanathsinh Sawant. Achieving this feat that too being a 9-year old kid is with such dedication is more than being praiseworthy or admirable. It is not only a proud moment for Vedant but also for his parents, coaches and our Shraddhavan family too. Work is worship and grace of Mothi Aai (Adimata Mahishasurmardini) that comes with devotion leads Shraddhavans on victorious paths.
My best wishes to Vedant to keep the momentum and success for his future.
