24 killed in Syrian and Russian airstrikes on Idlib
Damascus: 24 people were killed in the airstrikes carried out by Syria and Russia in the rebel dominated Idlib province. The Syrian human rights organisation criticised that the dead include many children. This is the second major strike by Syria and Russia in this region. More than 12,000 people have migrated from Idlib because of these attacks.
Scrapping the ceasefire imposed by Russia, since the last few weeks, Syria initiated a massive campaign in the Idlib region. The Syrian government news agencies and newspapers claim that the Idlib province is being cordoned off by the Syrian military. Syrian media claim that Khan Sheykhun in southern Idlib and Sinjar in the east will soon come under attack.
Turkish assistance to Hamas to attack Israel, informs a British newspaper
London: In the coming times, Hamas will be using Turkey to attack the major Israeli cities. It is said that Turkey has already given this permission to Hamas. The visit of Hamas leader Ismail Hania to Turkey, last week, and meeting with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is also claimed by the British newspapers, to be a part of the same cooperation. Hamas has rubbished the claim. But Turkey has announced that it will continue to support the Palestinian brothers.
The Israel police interrogated a person suspected to have links with Hamas. The information that Hamas has established special cooperation with Turkey to attack Israel. Syria and Russia intensify attacks on Idlib, 18,000 displaced in one day
Damascus: A UK-based human rights organisation claimed that the Syrian and Russia forces carried out more than 400 airstrikes in Syria’s Idlib over the last 24 hours. As a result, more than 18,000 refugees have fled Idlib towards the Turkish border in the previous 24 hours. Also, more than 80,000 refugees are said to have arrived at the Turkish border, over the last five days. At the same time, reports of the Syrian military advancing towards Idlib had surfaced.
In September 2018, Russia and Turkey had agreed on a ceasefire in Idlib although the conflicts in the region after that claimed more than 1,300 lives. Israel holds major war exercises in West Bank and Golan
Jerusalem: Israel conducted the biggest war exercises with thousands of soldiers, tanks, helicopters and military vehicles, in the West Bank and Golan Hills. The exercises which were conducted in the presence of Israeli Defence Minister Naftali Bennet and defence forces chief Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi, saw participation from the reserve forces, along with the Israeli military. The importance of the Israeli war exercises increases further, given the situation in Syria and Lebanon.
Against the background of the increasing tension in the Middle East, Israel conducted massive simultaneous exercises in the West Bank and Golan Hills region. Drone attacks on Syrian oil projects, government suspects ‘IS’ hand
Damascus: Four drone attacks were launched on oil projects storing Oil and Gas, in the Homs province, in central Syria. The Syrian government said that this was a terror attack and expressed a suspicion that the IS terrorists perpetrated these attacks. It is claimed that the Syrian economy already reeling under the pressures of international sanctions, has been severely jolted by the major loss of fuel stocks, in these attacks.
The attacks were carried out at four different locations in the Homs province. The attacks were carried out in a well-coordinated and planned action. Europe will face the heat of a new wave of immigrant influx, warns Turkish President Erdogan
Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned that ‘Turkey will not be able to handle the immigrant waves dashing against the Turkish border for a long time. If the action in northwestern Syria continues, European countries will soon face the heat of a new wave of immigrant influx.’ The Turkish President appears to have targeted the airstrikes initiated by Syria and Russia in the Idlib province, without directly mentioning names. Erdogan had, even in the past, threatened to open the gates to Europe for immigrants.
